  1. I'm with Jim Jones. Other videos of yachties sailing from one disaster to the next can be entertaining, but you guys are the true essence of the cruising life. Well prepared and sturdy yacht, a pair of safe sailors and minimal risk.Well done and an inspiration to all

  2. Hi guys, loving your travels. Can you tell us what your dinghy is? We’d love something like that that we can row, sail or motor and fold up to stow on deck… thanks 😊

  3. Happy New Year!
Could you let us know what type of dinghy you have? I kind of like it a lot, since it looks like it sails well.

  5. Do you really have a fear of sharks or you just playing it up?  Honestly, relax.  However, make way for Hammerheads and Bulls.

On a different note, if you're gonna pick up shells with live critters, make sure you know what you're picking up.  Some have nasty stings, others are quite serious where you require immediate medical attention.  Get a pocket guide with color pictures and text descriptions of the various shells.

  6. White tip and Black tip reef sharks are usually as harmless as puppies.  One has to really mess with them before they will return the aggression.  Nice video.

  14. Great vid. I am hoping to do a similar voyage in a few years so I love seeing what you are up to. The South Pacific is a true jewel and thanks for showing some ‘out of the way’ places. Amazing to see the plaque and reef where Kontiki landed. I loved the Jaws music and didn’t realise that you have a phobia…….that won’t attack…..generally. Certainly not the black tipped reef sharks. Happy Birthday & Anniversary. I look forward to the next exciting, action packed vid. Cheers.

  15. They talk about their dinghy in previous episodes. It is a 9foot Spindrift nesting dinghy. Go to the website B and B Yacht Design in North Carolina. The Spindrift comes in (9, 10, 11 and 12 foot versions, but the 12 is not nesting. all come as non nest as well. I am thinking of building one myself. I have a Cape Dory 33, it looks like a good tender for a smaller boat.

  16. Hi guys. Great video. Happy new year, birthday and anniversary! Best wishes to you. Do you have a sonar installed on your yacht…. I’m guessing it would be helpful for the atolls?

  20. What kind of dingy is that – like the sailing ability and apparent ease of rowing

  21. Nice episode. Thanks.
What is the make/brand or your little dinghy? It looks like a great solution for a tender: sail; row; motor!
    Cheers

  22. A second comment, if I may. I love how you two seem to take everything in your stride – occasionally one will manage to tease a comment out of the other like ‘a bit nervous’. It’s very funny but a totally admirable trait, and don’t be afraid to talk more on the videos, it’s nice to know what you think. I also have a copy of Kon Tiki on my bookshelves and it also inspired me to get into boating and sailing – so nice to know that there is a commemorative plaque on the island. I have yet to get to the South Pacific, I envy you that experience. Stay safe.
