Livin la Vida Broka: Build your own RUDDER | Sailing Zingaro

In this episode of LVB, Zingaro lost her rudder off the coast of the Cayman Islands, so Captain James had to build another. 🙂 Working in a shed, surrounded by roosters, rastas, and rain, we were actually able to finish everything and sail to Jamaica!

A HUGE thank you to our Caymanian friends! We loved it there, thank you guys for everything. Special thanks to the Hyde Family. Thanks for taking in a couple stays… again.

  2. Old boat builder and roofer trick, baby powder before playing with fiberglass. Done it while insulating a roof works 100% but never in 35 years of fiberglassing. But cant see why it wouldnt work as all the shiprights do it.

Congrats on the rudders, definitely one of the best and most down to earth sailing channels on YouTube.
    Fair winds and pleasant nights.

  10. Ok, I tried to sign up for patrion, but i"m too old or stupid to figure it out..but if you had a collared shirt with a pocket, I would buy it, delos dont have it, skinny austrailain chick, whats her her name don't have it, emarld steel don't have it, and neither does dumb ass wicked salty with cuty gf have it, I need a shirt I can wear at home and to work….just saying…great video! by the way, a 20min commute on a Sunday took me an hour to get home, 7 miles took me 1hr….be glad you escaped the rat race! and when I got home, I watched your videos 1st…ok 2nd..the 1st one sucked…..to bring you up to speed on life in the city, so we bought an electric car, you know to save the planet, so we got a $7,000 rebate on a $10,000 over priced car that has 1/10 the range of a gas car, then, California says , we aren't paying our fair share of gas taxes to fix the roads so added a $150 tax to all alternative fuel vehicles…

  14. I didn't really like your videos at first…but your the real deal, bitchin' back ground music, and bitchin' underwater shots of your hull, what a sweet underwater design! …and sooner or later, we all hit something! Professionals are too expensive to hire so its youtube videos from guys like you to save the day for all of us boaters! …and your gf/wife? is cute….:) My cable tv bill is $150 month, and I don't watch any of that crap..your videos are way better!

  15. Captain James needs to invest $ 3 and buy himself some safety glasses so when that piece of zip wheel flys off that grinder and heads toward Captain James eyeball Captain James will still be able to ogle those Titties that evening

  24. The wading water intro was fantastic! Nice job leaning towards strength on the Fiberglass fabrication. The roosters were a bit like my HOA when I'm doing fiberglass. Thanks for another great video, Dave V
