Island Daily life in Fiji – Sailing the Pacific Episode 35

We sail by way of some of the a lot more remote and not often frequented Fijian Islands. We obtain an astounding welcome in Moala with a standard feast and a seat in the Chief’s circle for Kava drinking. Then we sail on to the Great Astrolobe reef to check out deserted desert islands and swim with some of our favourite sea creatures, the Manta Rays.

  2. 30 years ago I've been on Fiji. It was my first touchdown in the tropics – wonderland! Our little travelbook named some translations, a gift you give as a guest to your host was a "sebu-sebu". I still use it actively – I love that word!

  8. Really have enjoyed your series. You've both done a great job of managing to live your adventure and record it for our pleasure at the same time. Any future plans to sail around the Indonesian archipelago, where I live?

  15. Just WOW. That deserted island. THAT is aspirational. The polar opposite of the cruise ship dross. I am jealous.

  16. Sweet ride…can’t imagine leaving the island scene in the hammock between the palms. Love the clear water and the soft sand beaches. Guessing one can’t stay put when time marches on…weather changes, responsibilities call. Memories. Thanks for letting us come along for a short ride. I’m curious your route west, but you indicate you’ll be in Australia if not already. Take care…

  18. As much as Cruiseships create income opportunities, one do not stress enough the very negative ecological cost of this mass-traveling industry!

About the friendly dog,can I keep him?NO! That was quick, didn't even have to think about it,hahaha.I'm a bit of a spoil sport like that too,the boat would beard to keep clean and smelling fresh with a dog on board.
    See you next time😊
