Saved by a Virgin – Crew Stories #four

Highs and lows in this week’s Crew Stories, Tristan tells us about his birthday trip to the Bahamas then flying to Fort Lauderdale with a close friend to look for a career. Just after realising his US visa did not permit him to operate and heading dwelling, they are remaining stranded with no income and no place to keep.

At the airport a good samaritan from Virgin helps out, using them back to his house, supplying them meal, a room for the night time and a prospect to receive their preserve. Slowly they find out a lot more about their saviour. Just after getting rid of contact, Tristan has been paying out it forward at any time considering the fact that. Was it you?!

  3. Who is he talking too? Tone is too presentational rather than a chat with someone? πŸ€₯ Onboard videos are good, but these, well, could be better, shame really…

  4. Tristan – You seem to have a remarkable propensity for falling into a barrel of it and coming out smelling like a rose.

  12. Lovely story. I had a similar one in the US as well back in 1993 – end of my 1st year at University – had a J1 visa to legally work in US but couldn't find work in NY so with my last $100 hopped on a 10 bus journey to Ocean City in Maryland and found work at a theme park luckily – but before that was homeless on beach and moved on by police – I was helped by a religous group who put me up for the night. Now, I'm not religious but eternally grateful.

  14. Why didn’t you guys look for a job on yachts in Nassau? The Bahamas is one of the biggest yachting hubs in the Caribbean. I would know cause I work on yachts too!

  15. Have you considered changing the name from "Crew Stories" to "Captain's Stories?" Three out of four have been your stories and the fourth was your girlfriend's story. It would be nice to hear from the crew.

Just hearing it made me happy and excited about being alert for opportunities to do something similar for the rest of my life. Thank you so much, Tristan!
