Ep sixty three Cruising the Amalfi Coastline (Sailing Talisman)

Talisman continues east, reaching Capri and the famed Amalfi coastline. Daily life is excellent.

Obtaining lived aboard the boat for just about a year, and masking above 4000 nautical miles, the every day groove of sailing from spot to spot is starting to seem typical. The little Italian port cities are so charming, but language limitations are ever current. Every single working day we rise to the event and it often looks to get the job done alone out. Be part of us as the experience continues.

  2. You just have to admire the Italian and Greek they know how to charge extortionate prices. I really do hope Turkey does not catch up.

  9. Great video Kevin and Wendy. So nice to see Italy. I can't figure out if Europe is a rich place or not. Seems so expensive and crowded that it is surprising. Go figure. Maybe America is the "poor" cousin. LOL. But $200 per night is not what I imagined doing in my next stage of life. I fear I will be a day late and a dollar short by the time I get to it. aaargh.

  10. We sailed much the same route as you back in September and had the same guy come aboard and take the helm in Amalfi. His boat handling skills were very impressive once we got over the initial surprise of him taking the helm.

  16. Hate those over-priced places. Much better locations to find in Italy at a tenth of the cost.

  19. Enjoyed that. It did not look like you were offered a choice but I am not sure I would have handed over to the 'pilot' (if that what he was) . Having said that and judging purely on the video he parked the boat rather elegantly.

  22. Great video — with an unusual port arrival. (!)  I can't see myself turning over my boat to a stranger just before the most critical phase of a passage.   He obviously had a lot of experience, but pulling into a crowded marina with no prior experience on the boat, how it handles, prop-walk, thruster performance, momentum, turn radius, etc.    Not sure I would have been as gracious as you.   🙂

  24. Saying Capri is expensive is an understatement. I was there about 30 years ago with a group of friends that are used to expensive places and they were complaining back then.
