  1. How much do cameras and remote piloting stations make up for the bridge placement?

  4. I’m sure the owners and the whole team behind the build aren’t stupid. If this is how it was designed and build, it surely works for everyone. They have a barrage of cameras to assist them so I doubt there is any issue.

  5. What's wrong with it? It's too big, ain't it? How you gonna take that 'round the McDonald's drivethru?

  14. He might have another way to control the ship from the sides so he can see over the starboard or port side of the ship

  15. Yes, the Design Flaw is obvious. Pointed right out for is, hey? This beautiful ship…the bridge should be on the 2nd from highest deck. Anywhere but the lowest deck!!! Good grief!!!

  18. So someone very rich owns this ……VERY …..it just seems a bit obscene with so much poverty in the world ….when you get to this stage of mega wealth everything they own just seems to much , to big , to over the top ….guess that's just my opinion though.

  19. Flir cameras worth more then my house. It's insane how much money these people have.

  20. What's wrong is that it has two touch and go helipads, but no helicopter hanger. You need a hanger so you can bring your helicopter with you. Putting the bridge so low isn't good either.

  22. These so called yachts are getting too big….. they don't look fun or practical. I suppose it could be made into a charter/cruise ship for the ultra rich. I doubt it could make money unless they charge a lot, but then again Virgin Galactic is getting $250K for suborbital space ride with 5 min of weightlessness.

  25. The captain can use the two articulating cameras front and rear the mast which have night vision and magnification and zoom displayed on a high resolution monitor to steer the ship.

  26. A very interesting video indeed – and with one quick question. Do you happen to know the actual legal requirements pertinent unto the location of the forward mast? For instance, how far forward of the main mast, or superstructure lights, and how high does it have to be? Thanks again, Geoff Rohde

  34. Awesome boat but one criticism, although I’m in no position to do so.

It would be nice if there was a retractable deck to cover the pool when not in use. As it sits, it seems unfinished.

  36. Very bad place for having the bridge on a boat/ yacht

  37. Maybe the lack of elevation visibility on the bridge is made up for by $500,000 in FLIR optics?

    Reply
  38. What’s wrong with it? Simple – utility. In a yacht like that you have anything you want but what is the point? You have to dock with the ferries and cruise liners. Great, but at least the hookers will be cheap. Draft will always be a problem as will the shag of having to go by helicopter. It will be they yacht you are pleaded to get off of.

  39. What a boat! I understand your criticism about the captain not having higher visibility but won't those HUGELY expensive thermal imaging cameras not do that for them?

    Reply
  40. As for the captain's visibility, with 2ea. fore an aft. $222,000 360* ptz cameras, he could pilot this boat better, below deck from the engine room.

  41. I would have placed the bridge right at the very top where that small round open snug is. Maybe even have the curved windows slide open 220 degrees to give an open bridge in fair weather. Of course there wouldn't be room for more than 3 or 4 crew members up there, and the Captain's & Quartermaster's cabins would eat into the limited space available so high up.

Still better than a bridge which looks onto a long, broad helideck

  46. 18 meter diameter rotor is a serious helicopter. Could they travel with a 10-15 ton helicopter on that deck or is that too much mass too high up?

  47. do the owners want the captain to crash? I would make sure my cap could see underwater if he needed.
