  2. Sail the Galápagos Islands in 1994 on the
Santa Cruz and made “ wet” or “dry” panga landings! Met Lonesome George before his death and am a true conservationist devoted to the protection of the flora and fauna of the magical islands . Had a baby seal literally born on my foot that I wasn’t allowed to touch, of course ! Bless the boobies, comorants, dolphins, sealions and marine and land iguanas. My favorite were the Sally Lightfoot crabs!

  4. Tried posting earlier but I guess it didn’t get past the edit. I am one of the 46 on this cruise. The story you are reading is wrong, wrong, wrong. The narrator makes it sound like a minor bump. I guess my true story version was too long for the editors. Look at the picture – those are ROCKS, not a sand bar. The ship will be dry docked for extensive repairs. There were many injuries – thanks to the crew, none very serious. None of us are still in the Galapagos – the trip is OVER! Celebrity is treating us all well. The whole incident was traumatic and dangerous, not the cakewalk this narrator is saying. Too bad he didn’t talk to any of us who were there.

  11. Celebrity really stepped up, that was a great reimbursement and cruise credit for their inconvenience. Best of all, everyone’s OK and no damage to the ship! Enjoy your upcoming cruise, safe travels!

  13. Sandbars shift over time. Even if a sand bar were to show up on a nautical chart, it should be understood that they shift over time.
