  10. Epoxy will fill in the grain on the wood so when you varnish it will look great. As you work with the yacht you'll learn by mistakes so always have a pad and pencil ready. Varnishing under the sun is a no,no it will get tackier quicker.

  12. I’ve worked with different plastic materials for ten years and interior and exterior coatings coming on thirty five years.
One thing you might keep in mind (you might already know this )is just about all inert materials eventually brake down from sun light and in your case even faster with the addition of sea water and sea air .
So try to use coatings that have ultraviolet inhibitors in them for at least your top or finish coats .
Same for all maintenance and protective coatings such as waxes , oils and clear coats .

  18. While I don't like podcasts, at least yours is actual video and it answered some questions and showed off a nice boat and good looking as well as promising crew member to continue the story. I almost unsubscribed over the last few months, but now there is hope that your videos will be more like the earlier ones that sparked my sense of adventure and made me want to watch. While I love T&A, there is always more to the story and I am hoping the story will get even better. Good luck on your new journey!

  19. The ridges in your teak are because you pressure washed it! Pressure washing blows out all he soft grain of wood. There's just too much teak on those old Taiwan boats. Good luck with keeping the varnish looking good in the tropics

  20. Hey Bobby….yeah!! you're back on a monohull….I am sad to say that I lost intrest the moment you went over on cats. Same happend to me with La Vagabond….watching you guys is, for me, all about sailing not hanging around on some luxurious house on water. Sorry about your brake up with Laura but very happy to be following you again on this most beautifull ship!!!
