  2. I can't believe every time up to today when I heard orange peel I was thinking of flakes of orange color rather than the texture. facepalm

  3. orange peel is a result of to much air pressure at the paint gun. I was told by friends who race RC boats that they wanted orange peel on their boats. the theory is that the water gets into the low areas of the paint and produces a "less friction" area. water moving over water has less drag. don't know if its true or not. all I know is that having spent over 30 years painting custom cars, you don't want to see orange peel!

  6. Tristan, I am wondering if I must know Spanish as an English and Russian speaking Canadian in order to buy a one-way ticket to Spain and start my career by dock walking. I am 25 years old by the way

  7. Is there no down draft booth available? We just had our under 25 meter boat re-sprayed in FL in a booth that would easily handle 40 meter. I am always amazed to see the work that goes on with "temporary" tents on these yachts and expect results. Orange peel is a bitch and the if you want it completely gone it is real money!

  9. Hey Tristan was wondering what time off / vacation is like for super yacht captains and other crew members? i.e. how much time off when not on charter and even time off on board after shifts. Unfortunately missed the last q & a so wasn’t able to ask.

  11. I have a friend that rented a paint booth to repaint his car. I thought he was meticulous, he would be a bit jealous.

  17. The paint guy seems a little sketchy and tap dances around some of the paint issues on AWOL. Don't sign off until you're completely satisfied with the paint quality and dust flaws.

  18. At the beginning of the video I was thinking that a lot of dust would get into the laquour “clearcoat” and if the would be flatting and polishing the side to get rid of the minor imperfections , unfortunately wouldn’t get away with that on a car , lucky painters
