  4. A very simple 5 gallon holding tank could carry you through 3 or 4 days of anchoring then head out 5 miles dump the tank and move on or return to the same Anchorage

  5. Based on the comments I'm reading, Chemistry wasn't a strong subject for some of the viewers. Great job! Is there a way to make those tiles you used waterproof for a wet-bath?

  6. So you put the nice tile up but cheap out on the hold take to skirt the laws….

  7. I feel for you you guys. You're copping so much flak over your holding tank!
I'm totally on your side though. Recreational boating waste is a drop in the ocean (excuse the pun) when dealing with this issue. Is it even an issue??? Not if one has a brain but I'm guessing most of your viewers are American.
This was MADE an issue by people with a vested interest in diverting attention from the real reasons the Oceans and waterways are changing and as usual the majority swallow the 'experts' opinion hook line and sinker. Fuckwits.
All these armchair ecologists taking the moral high ground are the same muppets who swallow every other form of bullshit government propganda. The magnitude of ignorant stupidity that exists in this world never ceases to amaze me.
You've complied with their bullshit regulations – end of discussion.

  10. You should be ashamed of your clever loophole, that is not cool. I only recently subscribed but will now be unsubscribing.

  11. The cabinetry looks great.

Otoh, the nonfunctional(1) "tank" will see you blocked from many marinas and is likely completely illegal for inland channels… 15 gallons per person seems to be the going minimum nowadays for the fewest issues.

    (1. no vent, when closed it will build up pressure then shove everything back out through the toilet, likely forcefully. Just say no to poop showers, m'kay?)

  12. It appeared that you had more than enough space to install an ACTUAL holding tank, so all I have to say is: WTF? Over.

  16. For all moaners that a bit of poo and pee from these two sailors pumped in to the ocean will bring down the human race and kill all the fish in the sea, perhaps the complainers should remember that cruise ships with thousands of passengers, navy vessels with thousands of sailors all dump and wash their holding tanks when in international waters and probably just the same, thousands of holiday makers that take a pee when swimming should all be arrested for harming the sea! One thing is for sure human waste in water is biodegradable, contains no chemicals and fish love the stuff without any due harm (has anyone see a whale poo, it is not only massive it is also very smelly even in water). So moaners… get a life instead of picking on two sailors in a small boat that say they do not dump human waste in costal or port waters.

  19. Please avoid association with Carl Brooke or risk your reputation. He has been caught conning people out of money on his channel. Don't believe me if you don't want to. Go ahead research him you will see. He drops your name to try and add legitimacy.

  21. Very disappointing about the holding tank I thought you guys had more respect for the environment than this !!

    Reply
  22. So let me get this right. You spend hours and hours designing an electric propulsion system that never really worked to protect the environment from emissions from your diesel engine that the California fires and Hawaii volcano erruptions emitted more in seconds than the lifetime emissions of your boat engine but YOU'RE okay with dumping raw sewage into the coastal waters to save money and hassle?

  23. Don’t you need to vent the anti-siphon outside so you could actually use the “tank” if you wanted to? Otherwise it will be pressurized and won’t accept any potatoes.

  27. Awww how adorable, someone released the trolls i see.

How about we wait and let them finish the job and see what they have to say? All these anonymous keyboard jockeys so quick to attack everyone these days.

Anyone who has EVER watched this channel knows for a fact that Dan and Kika are truly great people and their hearts are always in the right place. They certainly don't deserve to be shit on and condemned while they're here helping and sharing with us.

Dan, Kika…. keep up the good work guys!!! Some of us appreciate you more than you'll ever know.

Oh Ohhhh almost forgot… that bathroom looks Siiiiiiiiick!!!! I'm so pumped to see it all completed.

  28. i think dad and i used a bucket on a rope that dragged behind like the dinghy. the head in the Ericsson was a no poo zone like a rock bands tour bus.

  29. I enjoy your channel!

Sinks are often located near the centerline of the boat to eliminate the risk that the sink will back fill through the drain when the boat is heeled. Hopefully you have checked to ensure that cannot happen.

On my project boat, I will have no thru-hulls except for transom drains well above the waterline. A disturbing number of boats sink each year because of some sort of thru-hull problem.
